its probably a bearing in one of the fans has gone. listen carefully to each fan and find out which one it is and then replace it, should only cost a couple of quid assuming it is a standard case fan

Yes its sounds like the fan. Computer is hot because fan is knackered ?. Just replace it. Costs £5 - £10 for half decent ones.

NNNOOOOOO...... Don't listen to Decoy - he'll blow your PC up!!
jup Decoy makes from PC's a bomb
Th!rst, just stop each of your fans one by one until you find the culprit (you wont have to stop it for too long, just stick your finger in it - unless its got metal blades that glint! :shocking:)

Be careful sticking your fingers in - they may get cut off!! ;) lol
On a serious note - you really should be careful stopping fans with your hands as the fans are designed with delicate floating bearings which are susceptable to damage from being knocked around by fat fingers... So while you were cleaning them you may have done more damage than good!
Not sure how you cleaned the fans, but best to use a compressed air canister to blow the dust out rather than "dusting" or wiping them!
Even better - clean your computer at regular intervals to stop the dust from building up in the first place - may be a pain, but well worth it in the long run as dust can cause all sorts of problems like holding moisture against components (can cause small current discharges across boards - while not usually fatal can cause some instability in the long run) and blocking air-flow which can result in components overheating and failing!!
By doing it regularly a quick blow of air from your very own mouth should be sufficient (no puns about "blowing your PC" please - lol)
Hope this helps not just you but anyone else who may read this thread!

Go on Ebuyer and look for the Akasa Amber series fans.
They use ball bearings and have a sound output of only 12db, come in all the regular sizes.
The 120mm should be less than £10
Akasa 120mm @ eBuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/97858)
Akasa 80mm @ eBuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/97857)
Akasa 60mm @ eBuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/97860)
For a quick fix, remove the fans, peel away the sticker carefully and expose the bearing, some have a rubber seal that can be removed with a tiny flat screwdriver.
Then using a PTFE based lubricant (leaves a coat of teflon), spray a tiny amount on the bearing and spin the fan by hand till smooth movement occurs.
Wipe off any excess lube and replace seal and sticker, place back into PC

u get moisture from something heating up the particles in the air, then they stick to the dust and the dust sticks to the component this normally happens within years unless the room is seriously dusty and u have NO filters on the fans...

NEVER vacuum your pc, you can cause a buildup of static electricity and fry your components.
now i kno! its a weak lil piece of crap so it wasnt that bad :)

ROFL - If I used my Dyson it would suck half the components out the case...
I would have no dust left, but i'd be lacking in PC too!! :(

Use the brush attachment, make sure the PC is powered off (switch PSU off too), when done ground the case with yourself to discharge all possible static buildup.
Cross your fingers, legs and eyes, switch on and hope you ain't done a decoy...
