I doubt anyone plays but if you do join me on sylph :P

also found out with the FFXI windower (helps you alt tab as we are not allowed hax ftw!)
i can play CS:S in windowed mode
so those long hours waiting for partys are no more!
iand i can play with both at max settings :)
perfect framerate.. cS:S managed 50+ and FFXI holds steady at 30 (cap)

the 30 days free requires a card so we don;t have little children running about the place ruining the fun but instead we have retarded adults and spoilt brats :P

Payrment method: VISA/MasterCard for every country
Solo/switch only for the UK
Carte Bleue only for France
ELV to be added soon for Germany

there is also a gamecard

https://www.epassporte.com/secure/finalfantasy.cgi
I'm not sure how it works

i also have the same add on pcks as you i have yet to purchase the latest add on

ffxi massive grindfest :/

Karl
24th November '06, 00:15
FFXI's Style is more adult the feel in general about the game is more controled
it may be a grindfest depending on your job.

Sushi the gamecard is online.. click the link

i found guildwars and other MMORPG's TO EASY at rewarding players.. i never found it rewarding nor did i find the main story line if any and quests fun

FFXI has 3 Main storys for each nation and 1 Story per expansion pack
so 6 Storys to run through which are fantastic tbh
as with all FFXI's and they intertwine at some point or another with different nations / races

i found lvling up in ffxi too boring. you get a high lvl char to tank and hold aggro while everyone else does damage to it.

in ddo, you can't power lvl, and in hard quests, u really need a balanced party to finish it. and even then u have to work together....

Karl

PLing basically stops about level 45 ish as monsters get to such a level they can kill high level WHM's / RDM's / BLM's

From then on.. you work for your XP and Working is working.. if you get a good PT who chat and do their jobs properly it is fun!

4k XP an hour is average for any party
anything above that and your singing happy

Even though XP can be a grind.. the story on the missions and expansions and seeing the sights and fighting bosses makes it all worth it in the end

Other games have not shown me anything like FFXI has
their worlds are ugly
poorly thought out
lack atmosphere

But anyway sushi you have a 30 day free trial.. activate it play and cancel if you do not like it.. you will not be charged unless you stay subscribed past 30 days
If you do get it going give me a bell before you start and i'll buy world pass to get you on my server

he said earlier that he don;t got a credit card....
but he can try the gamecard which i gave a link to

sign up transfer money from your bank account then register to FFXI
once you activate the account your free 30 days will begin.. if you do not wish to pay then you cancel before the 30 days end and you won't pay

should be able to get the money back from the game card or your free to use it on another game

Dont waste your money m8, as I have wasted mine on it. Believing it was good, I feel asleep after 20mins of playing the game. Sorry Karl, but thats true. After 2 hours into the game, I felt I was playing no different than RF Online..... mindless grindfest.

Right now I am gaming on LoTR-O. :)

Karl
4th July '07, 12:30
well you had played an MMORPG before.. FFXI was my first and i thoughly enjoyed it for 3 years :P

RF online looked good i was gonna play it but i could not afford it at the time :P

if FFXI is your first MMORPG i reckon you'll have fun playing it.. what's different about FFXI online is the story lines.. you can really have fun with them unlike other mmorpg's which seem to have pointless storylines

arguments would be nice

Hmm well I guess I could by some new shoes too -,- much more expensive though

main arguement between FFXI and WoW is:

FFXI = Hard
WoW = Easy

FFXI obtaining rare items and such can and always will be a pain in he arse and you have to fork out some time to get them
In WoW they are pratically handed to you on a plate compared to FFXI

Have you played wow?

To get decent items, we need to go into end game raids, usually 25 man raids. sometimes 10man raids. 25 people killing one boss, 2-3 items drop from each boss kill.

so 2-3 people from 25 get one new item...running a raid takes usually 3-4 hours, and even then you are not guaranteed to down even one boss.

WoW is an excellent made game yes, else it wouldnt have attracted so many players, but the storyline sucks, especially after TBC....

Well it was harder before with the 40 man raid(not because it was "hard" to down the bosses but because it was harder to maintain 40 raidable and ppl willing to do so, also the drops was harder and more pointless before).

Bottom line is, WoW is a PVE game in almost all aspects, its centered around getting good equipment and killing lots of bears.. I am still playing WoW but im only pvping, and thats a grindfest atm.. But WoW is a very good PVE game, so i suggest to all the ppl who love PVE out there to get that game(for information PVE is Player versus Environment if that helps).

Personally im just waiting on a good PvP MMO atm.. or RvR like WAR will be, like Darl Age Of Camelot is.

Thats so wrong abt WoW is easy.

Let me get you intro into how to obtain items, you NEED to have a guild, you NEED to have teamwork and you NEED time. :D

I played Molten Core, first instance released by WoW before it gotten easier for other guilds, I spend more than 2 months tryin to finish it before any other guild on the server did. So it takes that long time, and it doesnt really mean your item for your class drops on that particular time ;)

That is how HARD it can be. You can simply ask the rest of the wow players how hard is it for them to get their chest-item ;) I am sure Hayl0, scooter, bluebolt and others would agree.

i don't need to play it.. half my msn FFXI section is players who have gone to WoW and have all said they won't come back becuase WoW is easier than FFXI
plus my flatmate plays WoW so i have seen what the end game is like when his on his raids with his guild

just for your information to take down endgame bosses it takes roughly 1 or 2 alliances(18 players each) and you get 10% chance of ONE DROP sometimes its a 100% drop but still only 1 per kill
some bosses take a good 30 minutes + sometimes an hour.. there are some bosses which seriously take 8 hours and 36+ players
