New LA Game server

I want to run a new game server for us. I've been assured that BF2142 supports a decent reserved slots system thus making it a possbility.

Depending on the initial interest I get, I would like to run a Dedicated 64 man server.

Paying member subscriptions will be £6 per month initially, with a view in the future to possibly lowering the cost when more players pay or having a 2nd server.

For example: A dedicated conquest mode server and a dedicated Titan mode server.

The first payment will need to be £18 (3 months in advance).

There may be admin opportunties available.

All constructive feed back is welcome.

I would certainly consider this if BF2142 is any good - not bought it yet, but have been considering it...

Only real problem is I've harldy had time to play anything else, let alone another new game!!

iam playing bf2142 since its out to buy ,..and iam in a clan with frends from vienna ..we have a 24slot server since 1month ,...but i was thinking about the same but i didn´t know who i can ask to create a bf2142 server for La but now thx a lot bfR xD iam 100% with it i hope this gonna work :)

Was BF2142 designed to be pld on X64 bit systems aswell tho? because bf2 pld crap on my pc

bf2142 is based on the bf2 engine, so its 32bit

afaik there arent any mainstream games using 64bit atm

Well 32 bit games will run fine on a 64-bit processor so long as the O/S is 32-bit. It's the 64-bit O/S that causes most of the problems.

The server im aiming for is supposed to support 64 players. Although we would need to try it out and see what the optimum number of players is on it.

I've been told that a 64 player could suffer from lag.
I'd suppose a smaller server to start with, then upgrade to a bigger one once a larger following has established itself.

thats true.... a little sample: if u play on a 48 slot server with 48 peeps on and ur moving the TITAn´s arround the server lagz horrible .... if ur playing on a 64 slot with 64 peeps on it and there are some vehicles like 2 tanks 2 walkers and some soldiers it laggggggggz no mather what kind of connection u have or nice Pc u have the server laggz i think Bf needs some more patches and better servers. btw me and some frends have a 24 slot server its a bit small but its nice ..how about 2 Bf servers ..a smaller one and a huge one *sometimes the lagg can be very usefull xD *

Got it through the post today. Been playing it for 8 hours, im knackered!
It's a good game, especially when you get on the enemy's Titan and you blow it's reactor, you have to then run for your life and parachute off the Titan.

Can we make a list of peoples in game names so we can add then to the buddy system they have. Mines:

some people (inluding me) have problems when playing bf2142 online

the problem is that it crashes almost as soon as you join a server

the solution is to turn off VOIP in game, to do this go to options > sound and turn off VOIP, that solves the crashing problem

its probably something to do with integrated audio or the audio drivers, but i cba to look into properly

well this was this afternoon

i spawned on a squad beacon, and i landed on a unaccessable roof (screenshot)

luckily i was a sniper at the time so i had a nice amount of ammo and could hit anything..

using pistol grenades and satchel charges the ran out pretty quickly

m8 a good trick is like on camp gibraltar u plant the bacon under the roofs so u spawn on the roof on a secured place and then just jump down if no one is on the flag xD
