Well, well. Here we are again. Just delighted that we have made it to the final and I like Milan as a team too so its going to be a great match.

For a couple of reasons. I havent been to a domestic game at all this season, let alone the european matches, so I dont have any club points - so getting a ticket would cost me a fortune. The direct flights are around £600 return too now. I know people who booked a full package before the barca and psv games and they saved a lot of money that way.

Another reason may sound a bit daft, but its kind of a tradition/lucky omen that I have watched the last semi final and the final (for both the FA Cup 2006 and the Champs League 2005) in a certain pub with my Dad so I want to do that again this time round.

I know its not the same and when I move back closer to Liverpool I will get a season ticket again, but in the mean time I havent missed a single game (including friendlies) since I had my satellite system installed.

Cheers mate

Would be great, can't see it though :) The guy is finished, hopefully he will get a game against Charlton in a couple of weeks and be able to say goodbye to the kop (something houllier denied him). He was actually down to take pen #5 on Tuesday but wasnt needed :D

well, we will see. Pool beat em last time even if they were under 3-0. So..we will see. Liverpool is a very good cup team.

I'm in grudging agreement, Milan will be on top form. But I guess if anyone is going to do it, Liverpool are. I would like to see an english team win it though rather than just Gerrard on his own last time.

TBH i fear kaka the most. He seems to create chances out of nothing(first leg between Man U and Milan both his goals was class), the others i think carra and the rest will be able to defend against. That being said, pool did beat chelsea and barca over 2 matches..and they do have a good chance against Milan if the right ppl are in good shape.

Thing is mate, we wont give them as much room to play as a midfield of Schole, Carrick and Fletcher. Masc/Momo will have to play well to keep Kaka quiet, but if we can stop him and push Seedorf back, then we have a great chance because their strikers arnt anything special. They have lost Crespo and Sheva since we last played them. Maldini is also another year older ;)

sheva didnt exactly play well in the final 2005 tho, missed on penalty and a biiig chance in one of the extra halfs.

Hum, what about Gattuso! jesus, he played insanely well....im sure there was more than one of him, he was everywhere and wtf when scholes the gimp had a go at him....GATTUSO WOULD HAVE KICKED HIS HEAD IN!

Mordeth

Yeah he was good, but personally not the one i dread the most. As i said kaka is the one i dread the most as he can do stuff on his own against 3+ players(as he showed Man U) and score the important goals that Milan needs(cos i doubt they want a penalty shootout again;) ).

Fowler scoring the winning goal, now that would be somthing, but i doubt hes gonna play tbh unless it goes to penalties again.

Liverpool will win !

Simply cuz they suck at being a proper league team and they rock at being the uber pro cup team ! :)

No other team has been more well prepared for the Champions League matches than Liverpool !

They'll win a narrow win and Agger will be Man Of The Match ;)

Getting really nervous now, but excited too. In 2005 I was just praying that we didnt disgrace ourselves and lose by a mile. Time round I think we have a much stronger team and Milan have lost the whole of their attack Sheva & Crespo.

I work for a company where everyone is really up their own arse. So, to add a bit of fun I hung my liverpool flag out of my office window.

// (My camera phone is crap and you cant really make it out too well sorry)

Don't forget the goal he had disallowed for being offside when he was blatantly played onside by carragher I think it was.

Liverscum to get stuffed, 3-1

Ah well, wasnt a clasic and AC were probably a bit lucky. Thought the players did us proud and I am not as gutted as I would have thought.

23rd May '07, 22:51
With apologies to Stephen....

Rick Parry gets what he deserves. A season when Liverpool win nothing. His petty comments about Chelsea having a bad season because they only won the league cup (and FA cup after he made his comments) have backfired a bit on him as Liverpool have won nothing.

I would have been happily supporting Liverpool tonight as the English team but instead I wanted AC to do it.

If an FA cup and league cup is a bad season, what does that make Liverpool's season?

Mordeth
23rd May '07, 22:54
well liverpool's season in my eyes havent been good, but they made it to the CL final after meeting alot of hard teams on the way. But yeah Chelsea had a better season, but tbh a team with the players and the money Chelsea has should have done better then they have this year(my opinion that is)....

If Chelsea hadnt won the FA cup id say Pool had done a better season as i count getting to the CL final above winning the PL league cup..

Nooj
23rd May '07, 22:54
No ! Milan weren't lucky !

Liverpool was shit ! Benitez choosed the wrong tactics ! Why start with only one attacker which isnt a real attacker !? Kuyt isnt a player thats in the box all the time, he moves around ! Totally failure!

Why start with Zenden ? And why substitute him with Kewell, which hasn't been playin much this season ? Why not put PETER CROUCH in the start lineup! Would have been better with him in the start lineup, because they would have had someone to hit up front ! That Kuyt guy isn't a boxplayer , !!!!!

Milan didn't play well , but they finished an attack ... 2 times , which resulted in two goals !

Liverpool didn't put much effort in their attack ! Poor Pennant, played well but had no one to pass it to in the box , again why didnt he start up with Peter Crouch in front !?

Liverpool failed , and they played shit on the last 3rd part of the field .. Milan was the right winners !

Mordeth
23rd May '07, 22:56
Well Nooj i disagree, i thought Pool's tactics were good just they need to get the bloody goal and they had the chances to do so and if it had been 1-1 i think Pool would of won... AC's first goal was abit of luck, the second was poor defending(but nicely done from AC yes)...rest is history.

Nooj
23rd May '07, 22:58
Did they have the chances ? ..

Okay Gerrard had one big .. but what did they produce besides that ?

Mordeth
23rd May '07, 23:02
Well how many times did AC loose the ball on their half the first 45? Gerrard had like 2-3 shots on goal from within the 11 meter, Alonso had a few close shots that could of gone in, Pennant should of scored after 10 mins in the first half.. etc.

Oh and btw i thought the reff did some really weird calls during this match, might be me seeing it with liverpool eyes but still..thought he did some big mistakes.

Nooj
23rd May '07, 23:06
I wasn't like .. "OH MY GOD HE IS GONNA SCORE NOOOOOW !!! OMG OMG OMG !! NO HE DIDN'T , HE JUST DIDN'T MISS THAT CHANCE !?!?!?" ... more than one time - when Gerrard was alone on goal !

They didn't get the tactics right .. they didn't finish their attacks .. Everytime they had a chance to get a good shot at goal they made a dumb pass or ran into a Milan defender .. they didn't have the extra 10% to finish their work ..

Scooter
23rd May '07, 23:57
shame but meh, bit of a shit game. Could of been worse chelsea could of been there and bored us all into submission.

revooo
24th May '07, 06:56
what a shite game tbh. Hardly saw any pass deliver or being controlled properly by the reciever. That just killed the match.

I think the liverpool coach some right choices and some not so right choices.
He shouldn't have started with Crouch Nooj. He is to statue-like (doesnt move much around) and wouldnt have standed a chance against Nesta and Maldini.
But why let Gerrard play all the way upfront? He is much better behind the strikers.

It was a poor match and these kinds of matches are usually won by Italian clubs..

MIsc^|^decoy
24th May '07, 10:15
well fist half was moistly liverpool doing the right thing attacking and always pressuring the ball. i guess towards the later stages of the second half they got knakered.
but infact the second half in general was shit as both sides kept loosing the ball

RaydoX
24th May '07, 10:45
was a crap game both teams played bad milan wasnt half the team they was when they beat us in the semi's kaka and gatuso were average!

gerrard @ carrier bag as per

HaYl0
24th May '07, 11:37
yeah - milan were shit, livershite were shitter.

You guys are lucky them scouse gangsters threatened to break gerrards legs if he was going to leave to chelsea a few seasons back.

Without him liverpool would be rubbbbbbish.
