Man, i was going to buy some stuff from amazon but apparently they are really rubbish at sending you things and getting them in time.
Is play.com any better?
I've only heard shit from amazon and people always tell me to use play.com.
Past experience?
are they that shit?

i like play.com sometimes they deliver u things a day before they are released, like san andreas, but sometimes they can take a while, i dnt know if thats just me being impatient or not, i think it depends on what ure ordering too, i ordered an external had drive from there once and it arrived at my door the next day, never used amazon before
Never had a problem with either of them. Usually use play because of the free delivery on everything, but its free with amazon over a certain amount.
My friend has been very impressed with amazon as he had a usb pen drive from them which went faulty he emailed them and they replied straight away saying he could have a refund or replacement. They have sent the replacement out even before he has sent the faulty item back.

Amazon can be a bit hit and miss with timely delivery, but they have a great selection and are very reliable.
Play are pretty good but not always best on price. Had a few things not turn up over the years but they always resend though you have to wait 28 days.

Never had a problem with either, the only time I had to wait with Amazon, was with things that weren't in stock or pre-orders (It might say a certain wait for some rare music, and there's some imports too).
amazon is brilliant to me. i love using marketplace in amazon. try that ;)
although i dislike buying games from play.com as they have bad delivery times for me. I could get the same price/cheaper from game.co.uk

Amazon is pr0. I've been using them for about 5 years and not had a hitch. Do check the Marketplaces [a makeshift one price Ebay] for pr0 dealage if the price displeases you.

play.com has never let me down, been a loyal customer since 2001.
the latest item, my telly, arrived on shedule, they even phoned me to ask when it would best to deliver it and it arrived with no faults whatsoever.

Yeah, cause guitar hero 3 is 10 quid cheaper on amazon than in shops.
and it comes with the wireless guitar and on play.com it doesn't.
so i think thats sorted.

Amazon: Their standard delivery is a bit hit and miss - if you upgrade to first class, then it's reliably next day...
Play: They're shipping from Jersey so it's always 3/4 days dleivery...

I heard of someone having to pay customs on a Play item. Is that bullshit?
On topic, I read a lot so have used Amazon loads and have never had any problems.

sounds like BS to me, never paid customs for anything off them in 6 years
unless the item is from usa or somewhere else in the world.

Sounds plausible though, as they're outside of the UK AND the EU, they're just a sovereign state, so you are, in effect, importing from outside of the EU.

I have used playusa.com also, never paid customs duty on anything from there either.
