Had a bit of a hick-up, but all is sorted now

Last shot of old Scythe HSF

You need to remove the original HSF retention braket for this to work
http://www.loonyasylum.net/imagehosting2/hosted/085581209641734.jpg

*WARNING*
You need to use the original screws that held the retention bracket, the ones supplied are about 2mm too long and will hit the mobo tray, even with the risers in place.
You will also need to insulate the screws once they are on, because the retention brackets for the DuOrb is thinner than the original.
It will cause the screws to touch the mobo tray and not let your PC fire up into POST at all. I used Duck Tape (TM) on the exposed screws on the back of the mobo.

When my PC didn't POST at all I thought it was the CPU, so now I have a 6400+ in there and a working 6000+ spare, lol.

DuOrb installed onto mobo

Everything back in the case

Night time action (or a dark area under the desk)

It's suprisingly quiet, not dead silent, but not louder than the fan I had on the Scythe.
The reason I chosse this upgrade was, as you can see in the first pic, that my RAM didn't really get any proper cooling.
The fan on the Scythe was practically sitting on top of the RAM modules, thus giving it no benefit in any cooling whatsoever.
With this solution, I benefit from CPU cooling, RAM cooling and VRM cooling all in one.

Hope this gives you some insight Jo3

Guys
Where I work we have all kinds of bolts, screws, nuts and "INSULATING WASHERS" so if you need any of these things send me a PM and I'll post some out to you.
All it'll cost is a stamp so I really ain't bothered about charging anyone.
They are just consumables that I can go down to the shop floor and get a few.
for instance, MOBO retention screws are M3s and we have every length from 4mm to 60mm !

Trouble is you may need to post me one of the original screws so I can get the correct thread, (unless you have a set of verniers to tell me the pitch and the diameter/length.

Anyway, the offer is there, we stock almost anything and everything you should need in terms of hardware for this kinda job.
