I know theres a few ppl playing Warhammer Online on here, so yeah u got some epicness to show off?

Thats from a keep battle earlier today(btw im standing on the defensive wall infront of the Keep, so its kinda big), was atleast 60-70 ppl involved on my side, and probally just as many on Order side cos they capped that keep and almost another before we could beat them back.

wish ppl would research abit. all mmo's are similar, WoW stole from all the mmo's before them, does that mean WoW is them in a new dress? sure..?

Warhamme was invented long before Warcraft, and blizz stole alot from the Warhammer lore and world, so i guess warcraft is Warhammer just in a new dress then. Sure the game looks similar, but so does EVERY other MMO aswell.

Is it Warhammer though? I know its an MMo but I really love the lore and RPG elements of warhammer- You know with things like the witchfinders hunting down mutants corrupting the underbelly of society, really gritty stuff. If its just about XP farming and ploughing through non stop battles its not so good...

It has alot of the same feelings u get from the Warhammer Novels of the storyline yes.

The good side almost seem to be loosing, the races are put up like they are suppose to be. Orcs loves to fight, thats what they are born to do. Chaos is pure evil and chaotic, Dark Elfs are plotting and devious, and have a special hate for their kin the high elfs. The high elfs are posh and think they are the best in the world. Empire is the typical gritty race that always have alot of corruption and always seems to be lost but always manages in a way. Dwarfs are dwarfs, a dying race but one that NEVER gives up. So yeah in that sense u have warhammer just like its suppose to be.

But the major storylines in WAR is also put up like they shud be, even tho they break the lore at a few points, the whole picture still stands. the bad races have invaded the good races and the war is going on everywhere. You cant run for long without seeing battle between NPC's and also now between players.

The witchhunters are btw a playable race, and u get quests from them aswell in the empire zones, the empire stuff as u explain is very very corrupt, u find ppl who are turned by chaos all over the place. Skaven hiding under their cities, and alot of mutans and stuff like that.

The lore aint like Warcraft where the orcs turn out to be "good" and work togheter with the allies etc..nono. This is all war against eachother, and even with eachother(on the bad side).

So yeah, its deffo warhammer, just ask any devoted warhammer gamer about it. They managed to get ALOT of things right in this game, and i was suprised, as a greenskin i ran into a zone where orcs had attacked the dwarfs, and you find NPC's fighting a battle at the beach, really fun to just watch really. And bodies everywhere, raves plucking at them..

And the main cities are really even more warhammerish. The Chaos city is really..chaos. The Empire one is infested with skaven etc, yeah its funfun :)

Do you have to buy the box or can I just download the massive client (10Gb) and subscribe? The box seems like a con for 30+ quid for just 30 days access?

I love some of the old books- I used to buy white dwarf and god it must be 20 years ago now there was this AMAZING short story in the magazine about this visitor who stopped in this small vollage only to find they were all cultist and there was this weird ceremony by firelight and they revealed themselves to be all mutated and some of them were turning into beastmen. It was scary and eerie and creepy- so so cool - and so dark. One thing I love about warhammer is the way it is actually very close to lovecraftian horror. The dark gods, chaos, evil deformed things lurking i the dark. Ooooh I goddamn love that shit!

Now I just need to get it past the wife!

Yay the postman brought it today so I am downloading the patches now! Planning to play a human, probably a witch hunter. Gonna burn some heretics tonight I tell you! aint nothing like the screams of an unbeliever in your ears and the smell of burning flesh in your nostrils! Praise Sigmar!

I'm kind of surprised there arent more classes though- I'd love to see thieves, barbaric warriors/mercenaries, etc etc...

Really? Took me about 15 mins to dl the patches.

And they are adding more classes soon, a few that was cut they are working on, and more capital cities are coming aswell. Currently theres just a huge fortress(infront) where the new captial cities are coming that u have to take over to be able to attack the current 2 capital cities that u can take over.

The Empire vs Chaos zones are the darkest ones by far, and even better by nighttime ingame. :)

Patches have been downloading for 2 1/2 hours now- but then again I am on Virgin/BT ADSL- ie.e shite connection during peak and off-peak times. Its OK apart from that though. Its especially good on the seventh wednesday of the month.

Btw Mythic already said that we will get free server transfer with time, so in a few months we should be able to change servers if we all want to gather somwhere.
