Ok maybe some of you already know because I keep complaining on the server-

my connection doesnt work well.

It keeps disconnecting me for a tic.

I asked Maddy to watch me playing but she didnt see anything.

It looked normal to her.

My connection has been checked 3 times, bought new cables, switched cabels, router, graphic card and ram are new and my comp has no spyware or stuff like that on.

It works well for Senor_Mouse but not for me.

I havent changed any settings.

Yes, I have SP2 but I had the problems before as well.

I installed the lastest firmware for the router- no difference.

We thought it could be an router/mobo issue...

But I dont have a clue about that stuff and I ran out of ideas.

Any suggestions except throwing my comp out of the window?

Hi Squishee,

I had this problem about a month ago, After much punching and kicking I discovered a naughty little bastid called Awab.exe in my processe list (ctrl, alt, del) if you have this then right click "end process" then delete it, If youv'e got it, It will be in my comp/C drive or D/drive.

Spyware will NOT find his programme.

Just a thought.

how often does ur connection KO? At a specific time interval? does it go off and then on automatically? or it goes off and u have to restart ur pc?

i had some problem with win2k a year ago. internet just goes down, and i have to restart the PC to get internet working again. my roomate on the same router didnt have that problem. turns out the new router was faulty. and so we RMA-ed it and got another router....

how is ur PC set up? home connection and all.... what router.... how many PCs connected?

...Is your network cable plugged in well?

XP-Firewall is down.
No specific interwalls- it just keeps interrupting from time to time. I dont have to restart or something like that.
RP 614 v2 netgear router- 2 comps connected. ( I tried switching cables/slots (or whatever you call them))

and this problem only started after you upgraded? (u mentioned a few things are new).

Try em with ur old stuff, one by one starting with the router. could be the router internal connection isn't good. try connecting ur PC straight into the modem and connecting thru that. if ur connection is fine, then its the router. return/buy another one.

No it started before but I changed the mentioned parts. Dont think it's the router because it works fine with the other comp.
I think I have to reinstall windows and see what happens...

(I can already see my comp flying...)

Squish, have you tried swapping the cable from your PC into the router, that could be dodgy?

Bad_Squishee

Yep. Bought new cables as well.

If you say that the other person using the comp is fine, swap the cables round in the ports. Sometimes issues like this can be port specific. That way if the problem goes onto the other comp it could be a dodgy port. Also I take it your network settings are forces 100/full duplex or are you set to auto/auto?

I tried everything with the cables...
Dont ask me about my settings- I havent changed anything but I think it might be a tcp/Ip issue means I have to change the settings which is complicated and I cba or I have to reinstall XP which would set it to default again.
