i was just wondering whos gonna play WoW when it comes out as a full game(not the EU beta that is running atm). and are u gonna play on a pvp server or not (pvp is a must guys:p)...for all u noobs who don't know what pvp means..pvp=player versus player. that mean that if u are one of the horde or alliance u can kill on of the other one when u see him..u don't have to ''ask'' him to fight or anything like that like it is on the other MMORPG games like lineage ect..pvp makes it feel more like it is truly war agains each other and thats cool. anyway web site for WoW for that don't bother looking for it.

Yes I think I shall buy it, its impressive looking and quite a few of my mates are getting it too. And I might play on the PvP servers a bit, we'll see.

i m already playing it on US servers ;)
Its a bloody great MMORPG. This is the only online RPG game i like so far.
Mordeth
26th January '05, 18:38
yeah so far i could say the same..only watched a few Beta testers tho..but the only other MMORPG i have played is Lineage and that sucked..

I thought there was some scandal or summat and they had shut it to new players.
Havent got the time or the energy for MMORPGs myself. My gf used to play EQ but I banned her from it because she just played it non stop. At least with CS you can just walk away mid game and nowt happens. I feel uncomfortable with the idea of living out my fantasies online. I'd rather make my real life better.
Thats my thoughts anyway.
Mordeth
26th January '05, 20:17
well in MMORP i can walk away just make sure u are not in a battle or that there aren't any beast around..i think u should try it atleast noodle just to see if u like it:) i got m8's that play it almost 24/7

Aye im playing the beta at the mo, ordered the game for when they eventually decide on a release date. Got 3 diff types of char up to lvl 15. Didnt see the point in training 1 guy all the way up, gotta try diff types if u ask me to see what u really like. Liking it so far but ive got a feeling ill go back to eve-online. Loved that game but couldnt play for a few month while i was working away. Missus gets a bit upset when u come home once a fortnight and u do a 24 hour stint getting ur char up to speed. But ill give it a few month to see if i stick to it..
Mordeth
26th January '05, 20:30
i must say i was suprised over how many bought it in US..they are all out and don't know if they are giving out more for a while...hope it don't get so crazy in europe even tho they say it will cos over half the beta testers where from skandinavia on all beta test even in asia..

seriously this game is quite easily getting u addicted to it. my hsemate got soo addicted to the game, i play it almost everyday but not totally glued to it. I would say give it a go, i would definetely rate it 10/10.
WoW is unlike other MMORPGs around. For instance, if the server breaks down, it will actually refund you the amount of time it was down for to your game.(ie if server down for 3 dyas, u get an extension for extra 3days to play). If it is ragnarok, u will prolly get some lame event just to make up for the server down. Plus WoW in US uses 40+ high powered servers. I can hardly feel any lag even tho my ping is around 250+. Seriously no LAG.
If you are really interested i suggest you pick up a copy from ebay.com .Its around £30.00 .

I have heard its sooooo good, and for this reason, I am refusing to play it. If I was still a student, then I would, but I dont want to spend anymore time in front of a computer

HaYl0
14th February '05, 15:58
8.99 per month first month is free when you buy the game. if you do come on pick the spinebreaker pvp server its where alot of the loonies hang out :D horde only guys
and you can join our guild woop
Zeph
14th February '05, 16:43
If you fancy playing on a "normal" server, join Teraylon, thats where im hanging out. Have 3 level 5 characters and a Human Warlock with an Imp Minion
Lankinator
14th February '05, 16:45
does it cost you to have extra characters? im quite interested in this but im gonna leave it for now as i dont think i have the time to dedicate to it, plus im not keen paying 8.99 a month! :p
Zeph
14th February '05, 16:46
nope, you can have up to 8 characters across different realms.
Bear
14th February '05, 17:28
TBH, sounds a bit ghey, people getting this excited over a game.
Zeph
14th February '05, 17:31
Oh go play with yourself.
Scooter
14th February '05, 17:59
£9 a month is a little over thye top imo.
Zeph
14th February '05, 18:04
Its a lot cheaper than most MMOs, I used to play one which was about £14/month and they get more expensive than that.
Scooter
14th February '05, 18:07
they would get a few more people playing if they made it a bit affordable to younger people, i could afford it but i wouldnt pay that on principle ESPECIALLY as you also pay £30 for the game...seems a rip off to me.
Zeph
14th February '05, 18:12
You get a month free play time with the game so the game is really about £20.
Bear
14th February '05, 18:41
I also object to paying £30 for a game then paying £xx each month, regardless if you get a month or not. They should really make the game a free download and then you pay each month to play it.
TheTrout

I'm with you on this one Bear. Monthly subscription for a game is a very very ghey idea, especially as that is the only option for this game (You can't play against a CPU opponent etc) If this is the future, it's grim :(
Green_Goblin
14th February '05, 20:20
Aye thats what my dad said lool.
But i wanted to play it so bad i went ahead anyway :o .
But it is a gay idea paying monthly for a game lol.
once you buy it you should be able to play it to your hearts content right?
HaYl0
14th February '05, 20:56
hm i pay to play cs per month aswell...
but alot of people pay hence it being an amazingly popular game, i find it great and dont mind paying tbh

Cant we host our own server?
HaYl0
15th February '05, 10:48
the whole point of the thing is to play with other players. The whole Horde V Alliance thing is a big part of it and the world is huge....so its gay making it into a small multiplayer server will get only a few on at one time.
Lankinator
15th February '05, 11:14
ohhhhhhhhh mardy! :p i might buy this later after im done at college, however i might not :p

no im just stating the facts matey, yeh get on mate join the spinebreaker pvp server when you get it and chose a Horde character, pick an Orc and ill be able to comne back and help you out.
Zen
15th February '05, 11:55
boro - i suggest stick to one character ;)
reasons is : LVL 1-10 (took me 30 mins), LVL 10-20 (1 week), LVL 20-30 (3 week), LVL 30-40 (1.5 months), LVL 40-50 (1.5+ months).
Well thats my difficulty, thats cuz I spend 2-4 hrs a day. It might be less if u play 24/7, my friend over in US took him 2 weeks to be 60 :)
LVL 40-60 is the longest time u will need to play. Takes frigging forever. It requires 110k XP to gain a lvl.

15th February '05, 12:05
now i am lvl 20 with an undead warrior on the Bloodscalp server...damn those elite quest...
$tephen
15th February '05, 12:10
You guys do realise that you are being "sucked in".
They start the montly fee "low" to get you addicted (Zen, you are already there mate) and will gradually put the price up. next you will be phoning in to work "sick", extending your overdrafts, getting more credit cards, loans, selling off your shit on ebay to fund the habbit.
Give up now, reclaim your life, the sun is out and the pubs open.
Even better, dont buy the game in the first place :]
HaYl0
15th February '05, 12:21
rofl ste79, im not addicted and never will be to a game. Mordeth, elite quests are another reason to guild up we are saving them and doing them together we shall roxor the big one.
Mordeth
15th February '05, 12:29
yeah we are doing that too..but they are hard anyway..we took 5 elite yesterday and i gained 1 lvl..hehe...but we got some very nice equipment tho..hammer of ogrimmar rules :) well we did all the elite's in ogrimmar and well i went ok..i only died once and there where 4 bosses..
HaYl0
15th February '05, 12:38
Nice, yeh we are going to do the elite quests in the cleft of shadows in a day or so. I think there is 2 if i am right.
Mordeth
15th February '05, 12:45
yes there was where we did them..we did 5 at once, we where: me a undead warrior lvl 19 at the time, a lvl 20 undead warlock, a lvl 16 Rouge lvl 14 priest and a lvl 10 shamman who didn't fight..

4th March '05, 10:04
wow thats terrible service, down at those times when they are going to have the most european players (its europe only servers for europeans isnt it?) bit of a shit company
You havent paid anything per month yet :) Plus they gave plenty of due notice, and its a 1 off thing, usually down time would be between 9-11, its to unjumble all the mess of data the servers have collected over a week and probably defrag the discs, etc. It could be worse, they could have an hour a day evey day down like Eve-Online.
Mordeth
4th March '05, 11:57
yeah and most ppl work or go to school at that time anyway...
HaYl0
4th March '05, 14:37
i dont :( but i understand the need to take servers down for a while, seems they had to sort it before the weekend (ie the busiest time of the week)
what Blizzard promises is to keep all their players happy. They will give you back the exact amount of time you have lost during their downtime. So you dont actually lose out on anything in that £9.00 that u paid for.
Take ragnarok online as an example, they dont care what you lose if their server gone down, to make u happy they make some stupid events ie "Build a bunny day" ! Sheesssh!
