Hi,

I want to invest in a flat LCD monitor ...
Can you tell me what is the best 20" LCD monitor to play CS in 1600x1200 ?

PS:I have a ATI 9800 Pro graphic card.

Thx

I bought this 19" Flatron TFT with a 12ms response time for £298. Its now £250 !!! Fantastic monitor though. Just depends on your budget.

Anyone who went to LL2 probably saw my NEC Multisync LCD2080ux monitor... absolute dogs bollocks!! If you want one then you'll have to shell out quite a bot more than £300 - in fact a bit more than double that when i bought it, but well worth every penny and runs native 1600x1200 at about 16ms and colour reproduction is pretty tasty too - use it for graphic design at work....

I dont see the point in paying twice the price of a 19" for a 20".

My 19" runs native at 1280x1204 @ 12ms

Grrr Stephen

You've gone and convinced me and I've ordered one of these bloody things. I will have to rent my butt on the docks for a whole month to pay for it !

you wont regret it, the lightview settings make dark maps a thing of the past.

And £50 cheaper than when I bought it :/

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ain't 16ms response bad for playing games(i.e. blurring)?
I read somewhere that it had to be below 16ms. But hey I'm a n00b when it comes to tech, so as I said I could be completely wrong.

The lower the response time the better. My friend with a 19" TFT noticed bluring with a response of 30ms.

On my old 15" TFT with a response of 25ms was fine.

My 12ms on a 19" has never blured.

I am buying the new Hyundai L90D+ soon , it has a impressive 8ms responsetime, high brightness and good contrast.
I have seen some nice reviews on anandtech that convinced me :)

Sry to be a noob, but whats the difference between active matrix and passive matrix?

those new 8ms 19" monitors are supposed to be only good at games, they perform poor on dvd/movies or sommit.

edit: i also read the you shouldn't just rely on the reponse (ms) times when buying monitors

One's Active and the other is Passive :P
