Well I have a 12x DVD drive on my comp, but I it is only Region 2. I wanna play DVD which is from Region 1 (US,CA) . Is there any software I can use to emulate to play the DVD Region 1? Or must I change the region everytime i play the DVD? Cuz I think I am only allowed to change it 3 times :(

Help pls.

You could use DVD Decrypter from http://www.dvddecrypter.com/ it would involve, copying the DVD to your hard drive and watching it from there or burning it onto a new DVD.

the actual drive isnt encoded to 1 region, its the software. eg. powerdvd allows you to change regions 3 times then locks. Theres loads of software out there which avoids the dvd region detection step. Just gotta find it.

dvd genie does the trick.

I thought the VLC player does that as well. Not sure though.

Which is better- bsplayer or vlc?

[edit] vlc is very nice and all but the subtitles dont seem to work. Tried fiddling with setting but no joy...
{edit 2] found how to work it... a bit complex but it seems to give you more control. COOL!
