Like most people on the forum i only really started getting into cs from about the 1.5 stage and clearly remember my friends brother telling me I should of been around in the days of cs 1.3. For many a year I pondered over the thrills of 1.3, with its bunny hops and instant scope awp. Thankfully this dream became reality yesterday when i found a site that i could download and play cs 1.3 through steam. So if like me you have ever been curious about early cs then please check this out. It’s around 100mb big and most of the servers are hosted in the USA but its worth a look.

i no people say it all the time but it really was better back then so much more skill involed

nowadays they just invite people to use awps coz its so much easier to kill with em coz players are less mobile and slow in 1.6

actually the skill was killing the awps before they got u.
Esp the early days when hitboxes were less defined and hitting a toe meant death as well

heh i remember when the awp was good to play with. not the neutered version in 1.6. It was accurate when u were unscoped, you could run around, hit 'E' or 'use' and instantly stop, you could silence the awp fire but switching to a nade/knife at the same time u fired, true one shot one kill even if u hit the toe, there was no lag when u scoped in, you could see the sides when scoped (it wasnt blacked out), it was fairly accurate when u ran.

in case ur wondering, i started around beta 4/5 and have been playing ever since. and I know I suck cause I have never excelled at anything in my life except maybe sleeping and bumming around. played two games my entire college life - Utopia and CS.

Yeah but cs is only a game at the end of the day dont matter how good or bad you are its all about the fun. :D

I keep installing it but it keeps on vanishing???
IT never comes up on third party games, but i see it in my halflife folder, but then after i close browser and look again it dissapears.??

lol, havent looked at it, but its an old mod of hl, not steam, best guess is load hl and click on Mods...

naa i got it now, winzip was playing silly buggers so i did it manually, its weird, very hard and i dont have a right hand model for m4 :/

yeah it is wierd like playing a new game almost, alot more fast and frantic i just love the bunny hops. Reminds me of watching the video of the guy that completeed the original hl in 40 mins, he just bunny hopped around the levels so funny to watch. If anyone wants a link to that video then please let me know its a quality video to watch.

I think ive been playing from end of beta 5.2 or when they first released beta 6 (ahh i remember escape game mode that was great fun)
Its always been a great fun game:) i used to like the beta stages cos was always in waiting desperatly for the new update (sad i know) lol.
