Anyone know a good big safe quality codec pack?
I only know those kazaa lite packs but I was wondering if there are any others...
Mainly for my movies and anime.

Avoid, like the plague, Codec packs. I've tried many of them over the last few years and have had nothing but trouble with them all. It's far better to just get the individual codecs you need from the people that write them. The main ones being, XviD, DivX, AC3, and OGG. Those 4 should satisfy all your needs. A program called Gspot is also handy if you have a file that won't play (it tells you what codec your missing). You can search for all of these and download them for free via Yahoo or google.

In fact because I'm bored I'll make it easier for you

DivX 5.x (http://www.divx.com/divx/download/)
XviD (http://nic.dnsalias.com/XviD_Install.exe)
AC3 Codec (http://www.glasso.dk/down/DivX-Ac3-Codec.rar)
Ogg (http://www.videohelp.com/download/OggDS0995.exe)
Gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/gspot221.rar)

Oh and a free Mpeg2 Codec for those that haven't got DVD software installed (If there is any such thing) You'll find it on this site if you scroll down, along with a lot of links to alternative codecs and information on them.

MPEG2 (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=6)

And as BulletMagnet says, Video Lan player (AKA VLC) is handy to have if something won't play no matter what codecs you have installed.

Video Lan Player (http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.8.1/win32/vlc-0.8.1-win32.exe)

I use VLC Player, virtually plays anything (no probs with LL2 acquired pr0n so far...)
Just Google it and you should find a free download somewhere

Hope this helps

K-lite mega codec pack(20mb) is the only thing I have and everything is working now (vlc and bsplayer couldnt play some files).

I can send it to you via msn if you want to.
