Hi guys and gals!

I´m thinking of buying a new gfx-card, but I don´t what card to get. I´ve heard some what about ati beeing better than nvidia. Scince I don´t know anything about computor stuff like this I´m writing this thread to get some input on the subject.
My economy is kinda tight so I do think it will have to be a 128mb card. Any suggestions of what card to get and what the difference might be between ati and nvidia cards will be greatly appreciated.

Rgds

If you give us a rough idea of your budget, then I'm sure one of our resident web ferrets will come up with some links for you, regarding whats best for your price range.

I've had high end cards from both Nvidia and ATI, and I have never really decided which is best.

yeh, as trouty says, what is your price range? Also, what are the rest of the specs of your computer...

As for ATI vs. Nvidia, it depends on many different things, there is no clear winner.

if you can, get the new SLI motherboards and get a Nvida 6600 SLI
cause that means you can get another gfx card and run both together, effectivly doubling your gfx output

i have athlon 64 3000+, 6600gt, but the ram is pc2100 lol and hdd is i think ata33 rofl, and this motherboard supports sataII which is 300mbps!

I got a GeForce 6600GT AGP 126MB, no probs so far, and don't expect any in the near future.
Bought mine for £130, that might just be within your 200 Euro budget.

Hope this helps

i desperately need a new hdd, my windows drive runs at s/t like 1.5mb/s random transfer speed, whereas a modern ata133 drive runs at something like 25mb/s!

i keep putting off until the sata2 drives come out though, btw i do reccommend getting an sli motherboard, i wish i had now! it's not bad, its an nforce4 ultra, but i wish id gone sli, then i could just buy another 6600gt down the line
