Three articles of news:
The CS1.6 server is due for renewal in June. I am currently investigating options which would almost certainly see us move to a new host for this particular server. So keep an eye on this website for a new IP address.
The current server is a P4 2.8. with 1 gig meg memory. It struggles at times as we all know on some of the most popular but cpu intensive maps.
I am currently looking at a dual P4 Xeon 2.6 with 2 gig memory to replace it. The package includes 64 slot vent server and it should be capable of running 1x32 player server and possibly upto 2 clan servers (12 player).
Its considerably more expensive than the current server but if there is a clan or two who would like to host their server with us and want a vent channel, we should be ok. We could even go to a dual AMD opteron 246 if there were more than 2.

Reserved slots are being checked today and those who are not up to date with payments may find their slot is no longer working. Please contact me if you find yourself in that situation so we can confirm payment and re-activate your slot.
A number of new reserved slots will be issued as we have scope so those on the waiting list (thread in forums) be on the look out for your private messages.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Reserved slots are now working on the source server. You need HLSW to join, as you do with 1.6.
Currently, those with slots on the 1.6 server will also get them on the source server. However, source only players can apply for reserved slots now (see thread in the source forum to cater for res slot requests on the source server) and bypass the waiting list that is present on the 1.6 server (if you dont need/want a 1.6 res slot).
If res slots on the source server become popular in their own right in the future, the automatic granting of slots between both servers may have to stop. Personally, i think that is unlikely but i have to cover it because no doubt someone would complain later if it happened. The same would apply to the DOD:S server and NS server when applicable.
