When i made my sig i used AAA logomaker and macromedia... this 1 that i have atm isn't my best 1...

get urself adobe photoshop would be a good place to start rodi

start of slow and take it from there you'll get better with praccy :rox:

As said- use potatoshop. If you want it animated use image ready. With a bit of practise you'll be pissing them out like me.

I can't stand Photoshop; I use PaintShop Pro instead (yeah it used to be just raster based photo editing but it does vectors now yay!), and my mates are trying to get me onto Fireworks. I don't think theres much now that Photoshop can do that Paintshop Pro can't, and I just prefer the way PSP works :D
Unfortunately, there are WAY more Photoshop tutorials and useful articles floating around on the web, so it's probably easier to learn.

Anyway, after much pissing about I've decided my creativity has abandoned me tonite, and this is all I could do:

if you are new to photoshop you might want to follow a tutorial and learn more techniques i recomend www.good-tutorials.com that's where i learnt al my stuff from, i too used to just add text to images lol :P

Fonts- there's a site called 1000&1 fonts or something or you can usually get huge font packs off bit torrent. Beware though too many fonts can slow your PC down for some reason. Also most fonts are pretty crap tbh. Be choosy and look around.
Re learning photoshop- I always find messing about is where you learn the most stuff. Tutorials are great but you can't beat just taking a piccy and distorting the crap out of it and seeing what comes out of the blender.

learning with tutorials is the easy and fast way, problem is you mostly limit you self and I tend to forget lots of things I learned that way. But when I fiddle with it for couple of hours and finaly learn something, than that stays for good :)
Talking about all progs not just Photoshop :)

But I once leeched of BitTorrent about 20 realy realy good video Photoshop tutorials. It says they are from "esoul.org" but I cant be bothered now to see if they are free. If they are not I can share them via grouper or IRC.

Also, Computer Arts Magazine sometimes comes with free fonts on the CD :D

Get loads of fonts, but don't install them. Then use The Font Thing (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~scef/tft.html) to browse them and install any you need to use at that time. That means you still get the choice of thousands of fonts, but no system slow down and Potatoshop is able to open within an hour.

lol i have a 11 gb hard drive and it is packed full, my fonts folder is 100mb yet my photoshop loads fine :P
