playing with high res...anyone

my dad got this 45inch lcd tv not too long ago and then we bought this AMD64 3800+, 2gig ram dual channel, 200gig hdd and a 6600 LE gradix card

now playing games with res of 1920x1080....

how about you???

I thought 1024x768 was hi-res. I remember the good ol days of playing in something like 480x360, when SVGA was the Next Big Thing. But hey, those things sure look purdy!

My question would be WHY?? games require no more than 1024x768 and unless you are far away from your plasma/lcd I would feel sick. Although having said that my TFT is natively 1280X1024 so thats what I use for best picture reproduction.If you play higher than 1024x768 or native res surely eveything is smaller and so harder to hit?? Just a thought but see nothing to be bragging about as LCD TV response times are notoriously crap :) Happy gaming

i have the oppurtatunity to play at quite a high res. but, tbh, i play at 800*600 MUCH easier to play.

Sony plasma can handle 150 hertz refresh rates with ease.
