I have tried to play a bit of sauce lately but i dont think i have it set up right cos its very choppy for me.

Also the source server is quite often empty lately, not sure why?

try cl_smooth 0 in console scoot. and yeh i know it has been abit empty..dunno why either.

I play 1.6 and currently have no interest in source, I've played it a few times but for me it's too close to 1.6 with minor changes that I find irritating. Having said that I really don't give a monkeys about things like gfx and i know a lot of people do so I say yay to those who want to play source, get a great community going for when and if I finally decide to move over, until then, more spare slots on 1.6 for me!

its fun for a laugh with mates, but gets annoying when some1 shoots you from around a corner and ur already behind it :|

1.6 only for me, i play source now and again but its always for the same lenght of time bout 5mins its just a better looking/worst version of 1.6

i prefered source when it was in beta

well the hitbox is getting more and more correct after every steamupdate..

people need to setup thier interp settings to align hitboxes the server does half with the tickrate we do the rest :)

i have seen the video i tryed it my self with sv_cheat 1 and sv_showhitboxes 1 you can see that the hitboxes are bady any ways 1.6 is better than source becuse when you shoot at some ones feet on source some how u get a head shot :S

1.6 for me, i tried playing source but i just couldn't cope with the majority of idiots who were playing and how screwed up the game, its funny though because everyone was exactly the same when 1.6 came out but now all thats died down, maybe cs players dont like change ;)

lol there doesnt seam 2 be any changes in the hitboxes, they never update them :p all they are concerned about it making the game "look" good :P they dont rly care about the gameplay :P

I personally would like to see everyone move over to source, as it does have a nicer gfx engine etc.. but with the min sys requirements to be able to play it properly, and for ppl to be able 2 actually aim properly and not spray and get 7HS's, then im staying with 1.6 :p

I only play 1,6 as my gfx-card cant handle source in a proper way:jpshakehe . I'm waiting for Grassy to come and upgrade my pc with new motherboard, DDR ram and new gfx-card. :veryhappy: Looking forward to it :boink:

i must be the only sado here i like bothe games equally, 1.6 has its good points (hitbox) mostly and so does source graphically stunning game and you have seen nothing untill you see a dead body go flying past you after a nade has exploded.

however they both have there bad points as well, as for the annoying people who play on servers well you get that on both games on all servers. its just something we have to learn to live with and sort out.

As for empty source server you are playing at the wrong time of day and yes vac 2 has probably had an effect on that. scared a few of them off

becuse when you shoot at some ones feet on source some how u get a head shot :S

thats cause they messed up and didnt put hitboxes in for the hands and feet, so when they did they messed up again so it shows up as a HS !!

others are gfx card: was ment to be playable with a low end card ( GeForce 2 ) but its just barly playable, when i get a new card i'll give it a go again

its a bit like playing 1.4 or an even earlyer version of CS with better gfx, i'm not going to dismiss it totaly and i'm sure at some stage they will get it right, or as close as they can

I am thinking about giving source another go. I have played the beta-mode that was full of bugs and stopped after, havent played my copy ever since. I didnt have the power to run it correctly for my pc, but I might give it another go.
Does anyone know what the minimum requirements are for sauce to run on your computer??
I have:
PIV 2.4 ghtz
512 RAM
readeon 9600 pro 128 mb

and lots of virusses and worms and stuff ;)

is that enuf or should I upgrade a bit?? maybe RAM?? graphic card???

Ive got a radeon 9800 pro and it runs fine at 1024x768, good graphics settings. Occasional slowdown to 30 fps, depending on map (there are some awful maps out there fps wise), but you shouldnt have any problems. Except possibly RAM.

It's true about the hitbox stuff.. but who wants to play a game with a medieval gfx engine and have XBox users laugh at you at stuff??

As for the hardware requirements.. who wants to play against people with medieval hardware anyway? :)

1.6 may have a medieval engine but it works, the play game is fast and exciting. Source feels like it was designed for old people to play, slow and laboured and all the models have hunchbacks (arhhh that's nice, empathy for the old folk).

btw, just make sure the server tickrate is set to 100 or 66 and u wont experiance any problems with the hitboxes :D providing some idiot doesnt set his rates to 10 10 1000 :p then it will only be him u wont be able 1 hit :p
