View Full Version : Hammer Q... Elevators

Im so annoyed now, i want to make an elevator for my school map im working on, i have literally searched google for days and have found one or two tutroials, one of them has no pictures working, so i cant see the settings... (valve.erc.collective)
The other only tells me how to make a door as an elevator putting a very large lip on it to make it move... Can anybody help me out there..?

search for func_train I think. Can't get to all my mapping bookmarks but as far as I remember you use that and triggers I think

Don't have a clue tbh. Afaik most of the mapping sites are shite.

ive just spent about a week trying to solve the very same problem, and ive found the solution. create a box for the lift. tie it to the moveLinier function. change the Name property, and set the speed and movedistance to suitable values. then make a button. in the outputs use onpressed then tell it to target the lift u made then tell it to use the target input 'open'. u need to make a second button in the same way to make the lift go down.
both the buttons need names. if u want the button to move with the elevator then in the parent property enter the name of the lift.
I hope this helps, if not i can email the uncompiled test map to u so u can see for yourself.
